چکیده

The results of the research on water mineralization, mineral composition, ash content, and organic matter content bottom sediments stagnant saline lakes in Southeastern Transbaikalia are presented. It has been established that various ratios feldspar, quartz, hydroxyl compounds, carbonate minerals universally found sediments. Sediments contain a small amount matter, which classifies them as highly siliceous, consisting mainly sand clay minerals. Changes mineralogical geochemical characteristics at different depths indicate changes hydrological regime studied mineralization these over time.

Geochemical characteristics of naturally acid and alkaline saline lakes in southern Western Australia

Abundant shallow saline lakes on the Archean Yilgarn Craton in southern Western Australia exhibit a rare spectrum of geochemical conditions. Here the field geochemistry over three seasons (pH, salinity, and temperature), as well as major ions, trace elements, and H, O, and S stable isotopes of surface waters and shallow groundwaters from 59 ephemeral lakes in southern Western Australia (WA) are...

Experimental investigation of geochemical and mineralogical effects of CO2 sequestration on flow characteristics of reservoir rock in deep saline aquifers

Interactions between injected CO2, brine, and rock during CO2 sequestration in deep saline aquifers alter their natural hydro-mechanical properties, affecting the safety, and efficiency of the sequestration process. This study aims to identify such interaction-induced mineralogical changes in aquifers, and in particular their impact on the reservoir rock's flow characteristics. Sandstone sample...

Mineralogical and Geochemical characteristics of the Chah-Shur Clay Deposit, ‎Southeast of Isfahan, Iran

The Chah-Shur clay deposit is located in150 km southeast of Isfahan. Eocene igneous rocks ‎and Quaternary deposits cover the area. Eocene volcanic rocks include andesite and tuffs ‎which relating to magmatic activities of Urumieh-Dokhtar magmatic belt. Alteration of the ‎vitric and lithic tuff units has produced the clay deposit. Based on the petrographic studies, ‎the main minerals in tuff uni...

Mineralogical and geochemical characteristics of the Siahrudbar bauxite deposit, Golestan Province, north of Iran

The Siahrudbar deposit is located about 25 km southwest of Aliabad-Katool city in the Golestan Province, north of Iran. This deposit lies between the Triassic limestone (Elika Formation) and Jurassic sandstone (Shemshak Formation). Mineralogical studies indicate the presence of major minerals such as diaspore, hematite, anatase, kaolinite, and chamosite accompanied by minor minerals such as boe...

Mineralogical and Geochemical characteristics of "Khezr-Abad pluton" NW of Taft, Iran.

Khezr-Abad pluton is cropped out in North-West of Taft. This granitoid seems to be younger than the surrounding metamorphosed rocks, particularly the lower cretaceous limestones and probably is implaced during Oligo-Miocene. The most volumetric abundances of the igneous rocks are: granodiorite, granite, quartzmonzo-diorite, quartz-diorite, and in a lesser amount tonalite, quartz-syenite and ...
